Lectures
At the Instituto Cervantes on 16 September 6.30 pm the Oxford University mathematician Marcus du Sautoy will be giving a lecture in the 'Deciphering the Alhambra' series entitled 'A Mathematician's journey through symmetry'.

Marjorie Trusted will be speaking at the British Museum in the Claus Moser Seminar Room on Friday 24th September at 6.30 pm. The title of her talk is 'Transatlantic Baroque: The journey of a marble sculpture of Sta Rosa from Rome to Lima'. m.trusted@vam.ac.uk

Exhibitions
The Royal Academy’s Masterpieces from Budapest opens on 25 September 2010 until 12 December and will include: El Greco's Mary Magdalen (c.1580) and Goya's Watercarrier (1808-12) as well as works by Murillo, Ribera and Picasso.

Surreal Friends which traces the artistic friendship forged in 1940s Mexico City by Leonora Carrington, Kati Hora & Remedios Varo closes at Pallant House, Chichester on 12 September and re-opens at the Sainsbury Centre, UEA, Norwich on 28 September until 12 December 2010

The Museum of Latin American Art, Los Angeles, will be hosting Siqueiros. Landscape painter from 12 September 2010 until 30 January 2011.
